Louisville International Airport (SDF)

Welcome to Louisville (SDF)

Airport RushIn 2005, UPS made the Louisville airport its hub for heavy airfreight, and after a one billion dollar expansion of the airfreight area, it is now the ninth busiest cargo airport in the world. It is also a hub for passengers within a 200-mile radius, and offers non-stop service to over 25 destinations.

Getting Around: Although the airport isn’t particularly large, it’s recommended that you arrive 90 minutes prior to your flight departure time as security can be extremely busy during peak times. The entire terminal is under one roof, with a single security point leading to the airside connector which consequently branches into two concourses, A and B.

The airport is eight miles from downtown Louisville and a cab ride will take approximately 15 minutes.

Relaxing:  Relax in the Bourbon Loft, a relatively new, high-end lounge with a view of the airfield. Here, you’ll find a selection of 17 bourbons and other spirits as well as light snacks for purchase. There’s also free high-speed internet, computer work-stations, recharging stations and a quiet atmosphere with comfortable seating.

Dining: Woodford Reserve is a Kentucky-based bourbon distillery which has given permission to the Woodford Reserve Bar and Grill at the Louisville airport to use its name and sell its liquors. This sit-down restaurant is the best of a limited selection of dining options. The décor is upscale and there is hostess seating. Located in the lobby before security, you’ll find typical American fare here.

Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi is available for a fee through the Boingo network.
